We are pleased to support Shabang in Huddersfield, a small local charity based in West Yorkshire. Shabang design creative projects for children and young people with disabilities and their families. These can include performing shows, telling stories, run workshop sessions, play music, sing and run hands on arty sessions which everyone can join in with whatever their ability. Shabang work with children with a wide range of needs including those with Down syndrome, autism , global delay, sensory issues and profound and complex needs. They strive to make our projects as accessible and appropriate as possible but above all our work is lively, fun and entertaining.
Sigma have again chosen Shabang as our nominated charity for 2019 in support of our Mechanical & Electrical director, Ben Tiffany, and his daughter Lexi who has benefitted from the organisation and its great work.
On the 12th September, our three fearless explorers are swapping their comfortable lives and pushing themselves to the limit to raise money for Shabang & Wakefield and District Down’s Syndrome Support Group. The ascent of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro is a massive 19,340ft and will take 7 days to complete! Money raised will provide a support network, information and fun activities for people with Down’s syndrome, their families and their friends across West Yorkshire.
